"For us prayer is being responsive to the unfolding of the felt-sense as a Carrying Forward of the Larger System."
The Art of Prayer (AoP) is a regenerative learning approach exploring a core component of our shared human existence - our natural capacity for prayer. It is a framework of practices, in which people from all walks of life and traditions, religious and secular, prayers and non-prayers - are invited to reconnect and rediscover gateways into the field of prayer.
The practice of AoP forms a complementary aspect of POF - Prayer Oriented Focusing - in which Focusing practices are integrated into an embodied, living model for existence.
In this workshop we will: Introduce the approach as developed in Shakio Institute; Practice

You've discovered you love Focusing...and you also know there's so much more to learn about applying it to your life. Living a Focusing Life is an 18-meeting (every other week), live, online advanced Focusing course to help you gain more confidence as a Focusing partner and work with key issues like action blocks, decisions, and more.
Taught by Ann Weiser Cornell (author of The Power of Focusing) with featured guest teacher, Barbara McGavin.
Includes videos, readings, discussion, group exercises, and partnership practices.
This presentation includes a brief overview of FOAT with an experiential exercise on the “Focusing Attitude.” The exercise teaches how to be curious and “friendly” to our inner experience; and the basic step of FOAT– how to access a felt sense, symbolize it as an image, gesture, sound, word, or phrase– and express it through the arts. This FOAT exercise is a self-care practice for practitioners that can also be applied to working with others.
Introduction to Focusing and my Basic Focusing Skills Course
Relate to yourself and others with freshness, emotional intelligence, and an open heart.
Focusing offers a way for coming into loving contact with yourself and others. When you are in contact with your body, with your inner sense of something, letting your expressions arise from there, you are accessing insights that are much deeper and vaster than the emotional or mental dimensions alone can offer.
With this foundation, the way in which your life unfolds is experienced as deeply meaningful; sometimes it’s easy, sometimes it’s difficult, but there is always an undercurrent sense of rightness, of following a natural flow.
The full course will take place: November 28, 2022 to June 12,
Not feeling good about yourself can be like living under a dark cloud that overshadows whatever you say, do, think, feel… but it doesn't have to be like that

What does it mean to GUIDE someone else in ways that bring life forward movement? This one-year course is for those wanting to dive deep into the intricacies of one-to-one relationships. This community is for those who often find themselves in situations of facilitating change for others, individuals and groups. It’s a great option for those who are looking for a community-based path toward certification, for those who do not need certification, and also works well if you are already certified or possibly alongside another certification program.
This Learning Community begins as a year-long program meeting twenty times every other week for 1.5 hours. We can choose to continue with regular gatherings providing ongoing support for your path of bringing Focusing into the world
Sometimes, trauma makes us feel unsafe to bring our awareness into our bodies. Felt sensing and our sense of connection with our resources offers us the capacity to safely connect with ourselves and our life issues without re-experiencing trauma.
In this experiential workshop we will understand in a simple way how trauma works in our human systems. We will learn ways to connect with our bodies, without focusing on the internal bodily experiences. We will also learn how to always stay in charge of our own process, while we befriend ourselves in a safe way at a pace that feels just right.
Building off Doorways to the Soul 1 (or any Level 1 +2 level training), we'll continue to cultivate our [email protected]. and deepen in being more empowered as a Focuser AND as a Companion.
Hildegard of Bingen said, "Learn to be a faithful friend to your soul." But how many of us actually know how to do that?
Doorways to the Soul will introduce Focusing levels 1 and 2 in a way that helps people P.A.U.S.E. and begin to learn how to attend to the deep wisdom of their heart, soul, mind and body.
The emphasis is on helping a new Focuser feel relaxed and to introduce companioning at a simple level.

Our usual practice is to open with an attunement that helps us set aside our busy lives and deliberately come into this protected space, where we can be with whatever is there in our inner world that needs our warm curious attention. Then we separate into pairs or triads to Focus, and come back together at the end for a time of closing.
