Lauren Taub Cohen A Stoppage
If you grew up in an environment where being authentically you felt unsafe, then it makes sense that it’s hard to trust yourself and value your feelings.

Eugene Gendlin would often say, "Life wants to live." I agree and would extend that by saying: Life wants to live AND it will do what it has to do to live.

Just like plants and animals, our bodies will also adapt and be shaped by the environment in which we find ourselves. And while those strategies may have kept us safe, they often came at a cost.

Gendlin valued Clearing a Space very highly. How about you? Is Clearing a Space (CAS) a standard part of your own Focusing practice, or your teaching of Focusing? Or have you replaced it with something else – maybe an attunement? Join us to share what place CAS has in your Focusing practice – is it essential, optional, irrelevant or something else?

LabsFocusing@GMail.com Rueda Solar Víctor Eloy.   Cantante, Productor Musical & Certified Focusing Professional.

By exploring both the similarities and the differences between two process-oriented approaches— Focusing and Feldenkrais—we can deepen our appreciation of the learning conditions already cultivated in Focusing and discover fresh perspectives offered by the Feldenkrais lens. This can make Focusing even more effective.

Amona's presentation is especially relevant for those who already practice or teach Focusing or other experiential, process-based approaches. It is also for anyone curious about learning, in parenting, in teaching. Some prior experience with Focusing will be helpful but is not necessary.
