Social Oriented Focusing (SOF) invites us into an embodied practice to untie the KNOTS and NOTS that interfere with relating to others, enabling us to overcome blocks, fears, and automatic behaviors. Imagine being fully present in the here-and-now in a Focusing way, enjoying interpersonal moments with the freedom to be yourself, instead of repeating stressful patterns of separation.

In SOF Course Level 1, we will set out on an SOF journey of discovery from separation to connection. In a safe group setting, we will explore the steps from feeling alone to feeling together, while being our authentic selves.

Dana Visual Journaling
This workshop invites exploration and transformation of your inner experience on the page--as colors, words, shapes, or movement. Dana will provide a template that participants can adjust and re-invent as needed. Sitting quietly for some moments, we will notice what issue, overall feeling, or energetic field comes to our awareness. Bypassing the analytical mind, we will let signals from our bodily awareness to travel through the hand—via pencil or crayon—to the page.  As this self-witnessing occurs, felt meanings begin to emerge. There will be time for solo work, small pair sharing/focusing, and group sharing.

Satoko Tokumaru TAE Proficiency Award Eligible
TAE(Thinking At the Edge), developed by Eugene Gendlin, was designed for people who are tracking something they sense but have been unable to say. The 14 steps of TAE help you to speak from that something in creative ways. Learning TAE gives you new tools to help you meet yourself more deeply. This is because the something you sense implies and suggests the way you are and will be.

In this workshop, you will learn the TAE steps more easily using the 'TAE Form' created by your teacher. You will find that it guides your TAE process naturally as you write your words into it. You will also see the relationship between the TAE steps and Gendlin's philosophy.
Learning with other participants and "Crossing" with them through felt sense will open up

We are beings-in-the-world in relationship with others. How we feel colors our experiences of the social contexts, moments, and places in each situation. This is where voices, gestures and silences become valuable means both to be aware of how the other person feels, and to express our understanding as companions who listen in an empathic way.

In this webinar, we will explore some ways to connect with our bodily felt senses which guide us to an experiential empathic listening and understanding.
