What might our human world look like if we were to organise it with the felt sense in mind?
We can make the felt sense an organising principle for everyone in responding to the world around us in a reflective manner. We can listen to it in facing our collective challenges, including climate change and other threats to our future.
In this Highlight webinar Peter will present a neuroscience perspective on the felt sense as the expression of one half of the brain – the right hemisphere – and he will suggest some features of this organising principle.
The illustrated presentation will be followed by discussion so that participants have the opportunity to contribute their own thoughts on the subject.

This short course will introduce you to my three favourite experiential dreamwork methods: focusing, gestalt and active imagination. You will learn basic and important ways to use these methods to engage with dreams and also to help treat nightmares, a critical skill for any clinician working with clients who suffer from depression or the effects of trauma.
The 3-hour live online class will be divided into the follow sections:
- Overview of embodied experiential dreamwork practice
- Techniques to weave focusing (Gendlin), Gestalt therapy (Perls) and active imagination (Jung) together for a safe, gentle and deeply experiential approach to any dream
- Application, including demos and exercises for working with the dreams and nightmares in a safe, engaging
The Weeklong is the flagship event of The International Focusing Institute, begun in 1979. It is intended for all those who are advanced in their practice of Focusing. It is a warm and intimate event, and features a certification ceremony.
This year, we encourage attendees (if it is feasible) to find a place to be away from home while attending the Weeklong online. If possible, arrange to be somewhere with great internet service which will allow you to be away from your everyday life, in order to have a retreat during the week.

How to develop moment-by-moment presence: Leslie Ellis, Serge Prengel, and Jan Winhall will address this question and any questions you may have about the Integrative Focusing Therapy training that starts this September.
Post-event registration is open. Access to full Symposium recordings and resources remain available through July 31, 2021. The Departments of Psychology and Philosophy at Seattle University, in partnership with The Gendlin Center for Research of the International Focusing Institute, held a symposium advancing the work of Eugene Gendlin. Participants to exploreD the implications of Gendlin’s posthumous collection Saying What We Mean: Implicit Precision and the Responsive Order (2018). This extraordinary collection, edited by Edward Casey and Donata Schoeller, brings together a series of essays demonstrating Gendlin’s creative and insightful ability to balance conversations across a wide range of voices in philosophy and psychology.
As life starts to expand again, it might seem like everything is getting easier. And, in some ways, that's true. Yet, there are also challenges (and stressors) you probably haven't had to face for a long time. One thing is for sure, we are in times of unprecedented change (at least in our lifetimes) and that's a hard place to be.
This is a 30-minute free webinar (with Ann Weiser Cornell) with warm, positive tips for emotional self-care in these challenging times.
My hope is that you’ll leave the webinar with a greater sense of resilience and some relief from the stressful feelings you might be having. And that you’ll know you are not alone.
Note: This workshop has concluded, however, Post-Workshop Registration is now open. All registrants will have access to course materials and recordings from July 9-October 15, 2021.
This 4-day intensive workshop will focus on Gendlin’s 'basic model' within A Process Model.
In this experiential workshop, Donata will guide participants through chosen paragraphs from the first 4 chapters which lay a path of understanding. From there it will be easier and more pleasurable to re-read the original text.
Registrants should have familiarity with Focusing, but do not need experience with philosophy or A Process Model.
NOTE: This workshop is designed for either full live registration or registration for the recordings. Each day

As we move beyond midsummer, we are surrounded by the aliveness and bounty of Nature. We tend the land and provide the best conditions for everything to grow, but most of the process of growth goes on quietly, out of sight, visible only through its fruits.
In this gathering, you are invited to give your body the best conditions you can for awakening more fully to its own aliveness, for stepping back and sensing into the underlying energy field of spacious, life-giving Presence that animates and heals us.
