Call for Proposals
Thank you for your interest in submitting a workshop proposal for the International Focusing Conference 2026 in Vienna.
If you are interested in leading a Changes Group or an Interest Group, please read more here.
Please note:
- Submit all information in either German or English.
- Every workshop will be translated into at least one other language. Please keep in mind that translation may take up to half of your 2-hour session.
- Submission deadline for guaranteed review: OCTOBER 31. Proposals received after this date will be considered only if space remains.
- We will notify you by the end of November whether your proposal has been accepted.
- Please reflect on how the theme Sensing Forward and the context of Gene’s centennial in Vienna might inspire or influence your presentation. Cross-disciplinary proposals are welcome, as well as more traditional topics.
- Presenters do not receive a fee reduction for presenting; however, if the early bird rate is not affordable for you, please apply for a scholarship.
- Anyone may submit a proposal. Certification or membership in The International Focusing Institute is not required.
- If you need a support letter from us to apply for a visa, please let us know as early as possible.
- You may submit up to 3 proposals.
Please submit on this form (WORD FILE will start downloading when clicked) the following information (if you cannot access the form online, you can download it and email it to us at [email protected]):
- Your name
- The name(s) of any co-presenters
- Your country (and the countries of any co-presenters)
- Your email address and phone number
- Title of the workshop
- A short text for the conference website describing your workshop (max. 100 words)
- A longer description for the committee (max 250 words). Please indicate your intention for offering this workshop: what you hope to share, and what participants might gain.
- A headshot photo of you and any co-presenters (.jpg or .png format)
- Language and Translation: We aim to provide all content in both German and English, and offer translation into other languages where possible.
- In what language will you present in?
- If you know of someone who can translate for you (into English or German), please share their name and contact information now or later. If not, we will try to find a translator for you.
- Please let us know if you need any of the following:
- Projector
- Laptop
- Flipchart or Whiteboard
- Space for movement or small group activities
- Desks/Tables
- If you are not certified by The International Focusing Institute (TIFI), please briefly describe your background in Focusing, Thinking at the Edge, Focusing-Oriented Psychotherapy, or Gendlin’s philosophy (max. 50 words). If you are certified, you can skip this.
- Do you have any accessibility needs we should be aware of (e.g. hearing difficulties or mobility concerns)? This will help us assign a suitable space.
UPON ACCEPTANCE
- You will receive the date for a Zoom-based pre-conference planning meeting, where all presenters can meet, ask questions, and learn about the venue.
- Please note: your acceptance is only valid after completing full registration and payment for the conference.
- We will let you know which room you will be presenting in.
