Find a Focusing Professional - Meg Stein

Biography

My name is Meg Stein, and I use the pronouns she/they. I live and work in Durham, NC in the US, where I am a Certified Focusing Professional at Alive and Aware Practice. I offer Guided Focusing Sessions, as well as Focusing classes and workshops. In other areas of my life I work as a racial and gender justice facilitator and a visual artist.

I have been practicing Focusing since 2014. During that time I've taken or helped teach classes with my first Focusing teacher, Mary Love May. I’ve also studied with Dr. Ann Weiser-Cornell, who is one half of the duo that crafted Inner-Relationship Focusing. In 2024 I became a Certified Focusing Professional from the International Focusing Institute, under the guidance of my teacher, Cathy Pascal.

In addition to being a practitioner, a guide and a teacher of Focusing, I incorporate the practice to all work that I do. I integrate an embodied approach into my facilitation and artistic work by creating conversations and experiences that allow internal reflection and body-based awareness. If you’d like more information on my visual art practice, please visit megstein.com.

As a human in the world, I greatly enjoy being in nature and spend as much time as I can hiking, backpacking, canoeing, camping and being out amongst the trees. I look forward to meeting you.
