(class will be recorded for participants; no special computer skill or equipment required)
In this class, participants will explore Focusing with Akira Ikemi. During the first part of the class, Akira will introduce the philosophy from where Gene got the idea of experiencing. Experiencing and Re-experiencing (Nacherleben), the central principles of Focusing, will be explained with a demonstration session of Crossing with Animals, a Focusing exercise Akira developed to highlight these principles.
The second part of the class will take you to Akira’s blend of Focusing and Mindfulness through talks on space and a demonstration of Kanga Focusing. By Focusing on thoughts that emerge during mindfulness, gratitude and compassion will be brought to the many selves operating behind the thinking-mind.
All are welcome to attend. Some experience with Focusing will be helpful but is not required.
We use Zoom videoconferencing for our online classes. In this webinar format, you will see the teacher and host, but you will not be seen. You will be able to ask questions during the webinar by typing them.
You will need to have a computer/mobile device. Calling in by phone is also possible but not preferred. All registered participants will be sent a link to the video recording approximately two weeks following the course. So if you are unable to attend in person, you will still be able to view the class.
