An online, interactive workshop facilitated by Dana Ganihar and Baruch Brenner.
For us prayer is being responsive to the unfolding of the felt sense
as a Carrying Forward of the Larger System
Prayer Oriented Focusing - (POF) opens new pathways into what we call ‘prayer consciousness’ as well as novel insights into the Focusing process; insights that emerged from Gendlin’s philosophy and - to our surprise - from his interest during his final years with the connection between human beings and what he termed The Larger System.
The aim of Prayer Oriented Focusing (POF) is to support the Focuser’s essential life processes, and to reformulate and refresh pathways into the intimate experience of being in the world.
POF practices enable not only the creation of a clearer perception of life situations, but invites humans to become co-creators in the on-going process of being-in-creation.
In a way, Prayer Oriented Focusing is not a new system. We could say that POF takes Gendlin’s philosophy and the Focusing steps towards a possible living edge.
POF invites us to open up the ancient and enigmatic word ‘prayer’ and its breathtaking potential in novel terms, as well as to open the Focusing process to new possibilities.
In this workshop we will:
- Explore core ideas in the approach
- Practice basic movements of POF
- Share details concerning upcoming learning opportunities
- Open space for questions and discussion
This workshop is intended for those already familiar with Focusing though all are welcome to attend.
Attending the workshop live is encouraged as there will be exercises in breakout rooms. All registrants will receive a link to the recording afterwards (breakout rooms are not recorded).
Format
We use Zoom videoconferencing for our online classes. The class will be held in meeting format so that all participants can see the presenter and each other. You will need to have a computer/mobile device. Calling in by phone is also possible but not preferred as participation in breakout rooms will be limited.
