Where & When
Many men today are struggling as the dominant narratives of masculinity are shifting. Harmful male behavior is being challenged. While these shifts are necessary, lots of men feel adrift when it comes to understanding who they are and how to show up in this context. Too often progressive narratives equate masculinity—and by extension men—with toxicity. But very little is said about how men are to develop a healthy and purposeful sense of self, while addressing these real criticisms. With years of conditioning that’s encouraged us not to be vulnerable, many of us end up struggling alone. It’s no wonder we see rising rates of mental illness, loneliness, substance abuse, and suicide among men.
This circle is an 8-week journey for men interested in liberation, living meaningful lives, healing, and connection. It’s a place to practice and support mutual liberation. Through sharing our struggles, strength, and visions for a better way, we can forge new possibilities and begin to manifest them in the world. We can be models for a more liberatory masculinity and contribute to the well-being of all.
CONTENT
I offer practices designed to facilitate exploration, insight, and transformation, including storytelling, writing, visioning, dialogue, and meditation. The group is highly participatory and interactive. Together we create a safe and courageous space where we authentically support each other’s healing and growth. There is a strong emphasis on cultivating embodiment and compassion along with personal responsibility. I recommend readings, podcasts, and reflection assignments between sessions.
