Mastering a Foreign Language - or Just Learning its Rules?

Tuesday, November 12, 2019
An Online Class Facilitated by Kjell Ribert

Part of The Focusing Highlights Series

In this class, Kjell will teach us how the endeavor of acquiring a foreign language differs from the task of learning the rules of a language; and the important ways that Focusing informs this process.

Through guided exercises and demonstration, he will reveal fresh ways of working with a foreign language, and with yourself. There will also be opportunities for personal reflection, group sharing, and questions. Since we have all experienced learning a new language at one time in our lives, Kjell will provide references to children’s acquisition of their first language to help us better understand the process.

Anyone who can speak a language and is curious about the acquisition of any language is welcome, regardless of your level of experience with Focusing. This class is designed to also enrich your dialogue with yourself. Volunteers will also be invited onscreen to participate in the demonstrations.
