About the Group
The purpose of the Thinking At the Edge (TAE) Advisory Group is to ensure that The International Focusing Institute (TIFI) is giving its attention to carrying TAE forward. We bring together a small group of active practitioners to meet monthly with the Executive Director. Together, the group senses into what the right next action steps might be. The main intention is therefore to find actions for TIFI to take (such as offering a symposium or updating information about TAE on the website); however, these monthly conversations also often result in wonderful, fruitful conversations which spark fresh thinking.
The original group was formed in August 2020 and consisted of Nada Lou, Hanspeter Muehlethaler and Evelyn Fendler-Lee. Thanks to their work, and in consultation with other TAE teachers, TIFI introduced the TAE Proficiency Award in late 2022.
Nada Lou then stepped down from the group and Satoko Tokumaru of Japan was invited to join.
Because of the ideas which surfaced among the group, TIFI has offered a number of online TAE events, such as the TAE Fest, the TAE Academy and the TAE Symposium.
In 2025, Hanspeter Muehlethaler stepped down and Beatrice Blake of the USA joined at the beginning of 2026.
