The TIFI Membership Committee is pleased to offer this series of Focusing Roundtables designed especially for members of the Institute.  This program and those to come will afford members a valuable opportunity to engage in casual peer-to-peer conversation with other members who share Focusing-related interests.

This Roundtable will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the role of TIFI’s International Leadership Council and how it functions to meet the needs of individuals and groups who are teaching, developing and practicing Focusing and its underlying philosophy world-wide.   Hosted by two senior members of the ILC, in this Roundtable you are warmly invited to ask questions and offer creative suggestions to strengthen our outreach to members and those yet unfamiliar with Focusing.

We will begin with a brief overview of the role and responsibilities of the ILC, including how it works together with the Executive Director and the Board of Trustees.  Then we will open the floor to questions, comments, suggestions, discussion, and observations from participants. Some possible questions we might explore together are:

  • Which Institute activities and services have been helpful to your personal and/or professional practice and understanding of Focusing?
  • Which Institute activities seem to you to be effective (or ineffective) in furthering its mission to spread Focusing?
  • What new activities or services would add value for you personally?
  • What new activities or services might add value to the larger mission of propagating Focusing and promoting the intellectual legacy of Eugene Gendlin?
  • Is there something in particular that you would like to see from the ILC for the Focusing Community?

If these questions intrigue you, we hope you will join us for this Roundtable. Bring your own experiences, questions and curiosity.

CONNECTION > CONVERSATION > COMMUNITY

What to expect from Focusing Roundtables:  Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation.  Rather than acting as expert presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives.  All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic. To preserve the nature of informal conversation, the program will be offered live only and no recordings will be available.  Registration is limited to 20 members on a first-come, first served basis. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.
