Class will be recorded for all registrants and available for viewing for one month.

“I want to start with the most important thing I have to say: The essence of working with another person is to be present as a living being." -Eugene Gendlin

“It is clear to me that Eugene Gendlin was intuitively polyvagal [theory] informed.” -Stephen Porges

We want to be present, especially with people and in situations that matter to us. And yet, being present in a relaxed way can feel challenging.

In this webinar, we will explore “relaxed presence” through a lens that combines Focusing/Felt Sensing with Dr. Stephen Porges’ Polyvagal theory of the nervous system.

“Relaxed Presence” will have psychoeducational and experiential components:

  1. We will look at the three nervous system states through the Polyvagal Theory lens.
  2. We will explore—by bringing friendly awareness to—what stands in the way of being present.
  3. You will have a chance to reflect on your own nervous system patterns so that you can learn to notice what state you are—or tend to be—in, and from there, develop your own breadcrumb trail back to the nervous system state of relaxed presence.

This class is intended for anyone interested in Focusing/Felt Sensing (whether seasoned practitioner or newbie) who is also curious about how the state of their nervous systems—seen through the Polyvagal Theory lens—impacts their capacity to be in relaxed presence.

We use Zoom videoconferencing for our online classes. In this webinar format, you will see the presenter and host, but you will not be seen. You will be able to ask questions during the webinar by typing them. Highlights presenters may at times invite a small number of participants to unmute or to join them onscreen during the webinar (optional).

You will need to have a computer/mobile device. Calling in by phone is also possible but not preferred. All registered participants will be sent a link to the video recording approximately two weeks following the class. So if you are unable to attend the live webinar, you will still be able to view it for one month.
