It’s been a rough ride. Our bodies fold up to endure the hardship, and they slowly begin to stretch out as it feels safer. But we still don’t know how far we can stretch, how safe is safe enough? Let’s be together this fall and share our journey through the lens of the Felt Sense Polyvagal Model™.

We will explore what works and what hasn’t worked in helping you get by. What have you learned about yourself and how you handle stress? Many people respond with addictive behaviours. Others collapse into isolation. Some learned new healing ways. How can these learnings inform your life as we carry forward? Mapping our autonomic nervous system will remind us how helpful it is to nourish our focusing practice. Together we will write, draw, breathe, and explore our embodied awareness.

We will dig deeply into Polyvagal concepts like neuroception, the body’s process for monitoring safety, and how it crosses with interoception, our focusing practice. And we will explore how trauma lives in the body, and how your body has adjusted to life over the last year and one half. Together we will be, in the midst of an extraordinary time.

This course is suitable for those familiar with my Felt Sense Polyvagal Model™ and those new to it. Here is a link to an article about my model. Reading my new book will enhance your learning: Treating Trauma and Addiction with The Felt Sense Polyvagal Model: A Bottom Up Approach.  This model integrates focusing with our autonomic nervous system responses. The crossing of felt sensing with the body’s neurophysiology deepens our understanding of embodied process. This in turn guides us towards greater capacity for emotion regulation, calming the body in these chaotic times.

The first hour of this course will be recorded and shared with participants. In the second hour we will go into break out rooms for smaller group practices. The breakout will NOT be recorded.
