Compassionate Conversations
The distressing outbreak of war in Palestine/Israel has left many of us rattled, frightened and angry. Many among us have suffered directly and are living in a state of fear.
As The International Focusing Institute, we are connected with and care deeply for people on both sides of the Gaza/Israel border. They are all suffering from the decisions of political leaders who choose violence as a means to resolve conflict. Many of us feel the need to express our desire for justice and peace and the right to live without violence or the fear of violence. Many of us just need to express our grief and look for signs of hope, to be part of somehow finding a way to carry life forward.
We are offering 4 chances for you to be in a compassionate conversation with other members of The International Focusing Institute. In these gatherings, it is our intention to listen for whatever is there: hurt, anger, fear, hopefully hope. During this time together, the moderators will steer the conversation away from any arguments about who is at fault or other political analyses. Join us if you are wanting to listen with a heart of compassion and to be heard in the same way. We might not do it perfectly, but we will gather with the intention of maintaining a Focusing attitude toward ourselves, events and one another.
This is for members only, and will be moderated by Flor Sassoli (FOT Coordinator from Argentina on the TIFI Board), Veronica Urioste (FOT from Bolivia/United Kingdom on the TIFI Board), and Laura Bavalics (Coordinator from Hungary on the ILC) with Catherine Torpey (Executive Director of TIFI from the USA).
