During this Roundtable we will explore new and more ways for "Listening Body-Buddies": Focusing, Feldenkrais and Emerging Body Language (EBL)
Elena and René met at the last CF conference Less is More and felt the similar passion for the integration of Feldenkrais, Body movement (EBL) and how our body movement, can support the unfolding Focusing process.
Questions and themes we want to explore together are:
- Why Feldenkrais & EBL can be so supportive of a Focusing process
- How to develop more awareness of the implicit bodily wisdom and to integrate its movements, gestures and implicit wanting into the Focusing process.
- What is the relation between body movements and the development stages
Join us at this Children & Focusing Roundtable where you can find a supportive community to listen to your process and own experience. And we will also explore ideas, and good practices that can help you grow in your own Children and Focusing work.
Who might be particularly interested in attending this Roundtable?
Everyone who has a curiosity about Body work and Children & Focusing are invited!
If you are a Body worker, Focusing-oriented professional working with children, or adults (parents, teachers, psychologists, caregivers, etc.) around this unique combination! And anyone interested in exploring the (implicit) child within, you are warmly welcome.
CONNECTION>CONVERSATION>COMMUNITY
What to expect from Focusing Roundtables: Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation. Rather than acting as expert
presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives. All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic. This Roundtable will be recorded. Normally and hereforwaard, to preserve the nature of informal conversation, Roundtables are offered live only. Registration is unlimited. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.
The TIFI Membership Committee is pleased to offer this series of Focusing Roundtables designed especially for members of the Institute. As a special event, this Roundtable is open to all members and non-members. This program will afford participants a valuable opportunity to engage in casual peer-to-peer conversation with others who share Focusing-related interests.
Hosts for this Roundtable - Elena Maria Vázquez Chávez & René Veugelers
Elena Maria Vázquez obtained a PhD in Molecular Biology and Biomedicine, and I have developed a career in scientific research for over 10 years. Nowadays, I am a Feldenkrais practitioner (a somatic education method) and a Kabbalist consultant. I have been trained in Focusing since 2020 and I use the Focusing's knowledge and philosophy to stimulate the personal growth of my clients, in combination with Feldenkrais and/or with Kabbalah wisdom. I combine body listening, felt-movement and Kabbalah resources to help the person to find the felt-meaning of its existence. The fundamental pillar in my work is the model of the body developed by Eugene Gendlin as a crucial context and resource for the development of our potent-self.
The Children & Focusing Advisory Group
René Veugelers is a Coordinator specialising in Children’s Focusing, with an emphasis on the non-verbal world, René teaches parents, therapists, teachers and others how to be with children in a Focusing way, how to (re)connect to their own inner child experiences and how to integrate creativity and flexibility into their life and work. His work and experiences as a psychiatric nurse and as an art therapist with children, of any age, embraces an expanded richness of creative elements and supports a natural unfolding of creative process. René lives and works in the Netherlands, where he teaches Children Focusing and specializes in working with children with ADHD, ADD, trauma and attachment disorder.
Laura Bavalics is an early childhood educator, play mentor, and drama teacher.
