Polyvagal Theory puts mindfulness within the context of interaction, involving interconnection as well as inner connection.
In this 90-minute workshop, we explore the shared space of Polyvagal Mindfulness as an experience that is co-created.
After an initial introduction and orientation, we shall enter into an experiential process (in the full group and in breakout rooms) in which learning emerges from everybody’s active participation. This is not a presentation about applying Polyvagal Theory to group process. It is a mindful shared exploration of tracking our own nervous systems in the group space with particular attention to our bodily-felt experience, in addition to how our awareness of our presence, intention, and delight deepen and shape the group experience.
Facilitators:
Serge Prengel and Bruce Nayowith have been exploring the shared field of connection, each on our own, together, and with our friend/colleague, the late Bruce Gibbs.
Serge Prengel helps people develop proactive mindfulness in therapy and in life. He is a therapist in private practice and teaches in the Integrative Focusing Therapy training program. He wrote The Proactive Twelve Steps: A Mindful Program For Lasting Change.
Bruce Nayowith, MD, is a lifelong student of processes that support individual and collective emergence. These include mindfulness, depth psychology, whole-brain education, Focusing, and several forms of “shared nervous systems” processes such as Constellations and co-presencing.
