I am a philosopher who specializes in philosophy of the body, phenomenology, feminist/queer philosophy of embodiment, micro-phenomenology and the philosophy of Gendlin. I am professor at the Department of philosophy at the University of Iceland. Along with Donata Schoeller I established the Training Embodied Critical Thinking and Understanding program in cooperation with universities in Groningen, Ljubljana, Bielefeld, Aarhus, Jena and the Micro-phenomenology Lab in Paris. In TECTU (www.trainingect.com), a program for graduate students and researchers, Gendlin´s philosophy and methodology of embodied thinking are introduced and trained. I teach courses that introduce methods of embodied thinking, often in cooperation with my colleagues Donata Schoeller, Gudbjörg R. Johannesdottir at the Iceland University of the arts and Ole Sandberg at the University of Iceland who are members of our Embodied Critical Thinking research project (www.ect.hi.is). In 2024 this project will be developed into a research and training center. I did my training in TAE with Evelyn Fendler-Lee. I have done courses in Focusing with Virpi Lehtinen in Helsinki (who introduced me to Gendlin and Focusing), Robert Lee, Astrid Schillings and Birte Robins.
