So Much Life-Forward Movement This Year
We rely on your donations to be able to offer all of our services and programs, and to continue this life-forward movement!
Everywhere we look in our global community, we see life-forward movement—in programs, in research, in new crossings, in new generations stepping in, and in the deepening of Eugene Gendlin’s legacy.
As we prepare for the major 2026 Vienna gathering to honor Gene in his hundredth year, we are also living into the revised goals of TIFI, adopted by our Board this year. These goals guide everything we do: preserving Gene’s legacy, supporting innovation, expanding global access, catalyzing research, and nurturing a more inclusive community grounded in felt sensing.
Here are some of the ways that life has moved forward through TIFI this year:
We held the largest Weeklong for Advanced Focusers in our history — 70 participants, ages 20 through 80, from every region of the world. It showed us that the next generation of Focusing leaders is already emerging.
Work is underway for the 2026 gathering honoring Eugene Gendlin in Vienna, the city of his birth. This will be the largest and most comprehensive celebration of Gene’s legacy we have ever organized.
Deepening philosophy and research:
A 4-day working session began the long-term project of reviewing and scanning Gene’s papers.
We held the first Thinking at the Edge (TAE) Symposium, bringing together developers, teachers, and new voices from around the world.
We held an important community conversation on Focusing and its relationship to AI, exploring the crossings that will shape the future.
It's all been possible thanks to your donations!
Strengthening community and applications:
Launched a new email discussion list on Community Wellness, Peace and Justice, supporting crossings in the direction of using Focusing for life-forward social engagement.
Hosted the first-ever Children & Focusing Academy, expanding Focusing into the lives of families, teachers and young people.
Offered the first “Daylong” event designed as a “taste of the Weeklong” for certified members—opening a new door toward community depth and renewal.
These steps directly advance our revised goals:
• preserving Gene’s legacy,
• keeping the philosophy of the implicit alive and accessible,
• fostering innovation,
• supporting global teachers and communities, and
• strengthening the structures that let this work move forward.
Your donations move it all forward.
