A course for focusers, new or experienced, for connecting with Living Forward beyond trauma

We begin with slowing things down and reacquainting with the body through the senses. This helps the brain feel at home in the body again. Building this trust allows those parts of us to feel a sense of safety reinhabiting our body once more. A connection that was weakened or lost due to our past experiences. With time we can rewire this connection and feel our bodies as a safe space and resource once again for Focusing.

At the heart of healing is a compassionate presence to self. Here we will be entirely at the stage of clearing space and engaging the body for a forming felt sense. Just your inner relationship first, without partnerships. No content is needed or necessary, just your presence to yourself in a way that feels safe for you. Your felt sense is in charge here. There will also be time for gentle integrative movement practice with my friend Andreanna who teaches Qi Gong. Invaluable we have found for the somatic healing of the brain and nervous system. The group is small, capped at eight, and no movement experience is needed. If your body says yes to all of this then this may be right for you.

What you will experience and learn through informative sessions, discussions, somatic practices and movement:

  • Reacquainting and reinhabiting the body with somatic movement like Qi Gong
  • Connecting to your own felt sense of safety in your body
  • Listening to the body and empowering it to speak
  • Regulating your nervous system with the support of your brain
  • Connecting with your senses and feelings with your felt sense leading the way
  • Whole body felt sensing and feeling
  • Working with the parts of us that hold worry and fear
  • Reconnecting and trusting your Life Forward movement

Your Facilitator and Companion

Hi, I’m Giselle, foremost a person also on their own healing journey, a dancer and lover of the ocean and forests. With a social work background in trauma I have found my Living Forward movement as a somatic neuro-psychotherapist in the field of trauma. Current neuroscience informs all the somatic practices I offer along with Focusing, Internal Family Systems and somatic movement practice.
