In recent years, we have observed an increasing interest in TAE within the Focusing community. This is evident from the high number of participants who have attended past TAE Academies and Symposiums.
As experienced teachers, we have seen students get excited by their experiences in the TAE process, but sometimes feel a little lost. on how to carry this forward?
We often observe:
- A difficulty identifying and specifying a theme
- Sometimes the thread of the process is lost
At the end of a training, we sometimes hear, 'And now, what can I do with all that?'
Through this roundtable, we aim to provide a platform for TAE practitioners to share their experiences and explore ways to make the TAE process more organic. We hope this meeting could be the starting point for a group interested in the further development of TAE. Another focus could be to explore how to share TAE outside the Focusing community.
Who might be particularly interested in attending this Roundtable?
TAE practitioners who wish to improve their skills in order to consolidate and develop their experience.
CONNECTION>CONVERSATION>COMMUNITY
What to expect from Focusing Roundtables: Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation. Rather than acting as expert presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives. All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic. This Roundtable will be recorded. Normally and hereforwaard, to preserve the nature of informal conversation, Roundtables are offered live only. Registration is unlimited. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.
The TIFI Membership Committee is pleased to offer this series of Focusing Roundtables designed especially for members of the Institute. If you are not a member, please join at focusing.org/membership, then return to this page to register. This program will afford members a valuable opportunity to engage in casual peer-to-peer conversation with other members who share Focusing-related interests.
About the Hosts
Hanspeter Muehlethaler is a Certified Focusing Professional. He is retired from his primary career as a Physicist and Engineer. Now his main interests are in the philosophical aspects of Focusing, especially in the practice of TAE which he teaches in the private and university sector. He also combines Focusing/TAE with mountain hiking. He is a former member of TIFI’s Board of Directors and the TAE Advisory Group.
Massimo Zarghetta is retired from his career as an economist, finance specialist and manager. He is still active as management consultant and certified professional counsellor although in his past fifteen years his focus is on studying and applying Gendlin’s work to decision-making processes, negotiations and conflicts, and more generally to supporting individuals’ well-being in their various personal contexts. His daily life is closely intertwined with his long-life practice of traditional Western and Eastern forms of meditation and contemplation, both formal and informal. He is a Certifying Coordinator and Focusing Trainer with TIFI, where he currently serves as a member of the ILC – International Leadership Council and of the Nominating Committee.
