Where & When
This course pays particular attention to develop your capacity to:
- understand how embodied experience is underlying psychological experience
- practice different ways to work with embodied experience even when the client is not in touch with their body
- discover how an embodied and relational approach enhances confidence and creativity in therapy
It is a highly experiential integration of clinical practice with neuroscience and somatic psychology. You practice responding to situations moment by moment, skillfully and creatively. You develop a quality of presence that allows clients to face what might otherwise feel uncomfortable or even unbearable and allows new possibilities to emerge.
This course is suitable for experienced Focusers as well as beginners. If you don’t know Focusing, you will get a short introduction to Focusing (self-learning).
In addition to our sessions together as a group, you will be assigned to ongoing Focusing partnerships between sessions.
Before each class, you will receive study material (video lecture and/or PDF) to prepare for the session.
This is a small class (6 to 12 people) to ensure that everybody is actively involved.
