Celebrating life beyond egotism is focusing on 'psycholgical materialism' as well as ‘spiritual bypassing’. A 'process-oriented spirituality’ will deal contionously with the challenges in private and professional life. Gene Gendlin described the ‘murky edge’ as the crucial point in moving towards the yet unknown in myself, that is ongoing accessible in the present moment. Life can therefore viewed as a continuity in change, while the personality and behaviour patterns looking forward to establishing security and reliable circumstances.

After Gene Gendlin’s work was discovered by the Buddhist community in North America, ‘spiritual bypassing’ came again into the picture together with ‘psychological materialism’. Generally spoken we are at the same time trapped by the pull of the past and the expectations of the future related to our associated preconception towards both. Thus we missed the ever fresh 'gap' of the present moment, that in the long run will opens a door towards change and transformation.

Life provides us ongoing with obstacles to challenge our personal and professional development. So to say, we are invited to study our neurotic patterns, which are contributing and maintaining the structure of our personality and ego. An ongoing observation and recollection of  the murky edge inside us will help to re-shape the recurring personal patterns. That inwardly focused attention is a precondition that sustainable results will become possible. The workshop will be a creative opportunity to work on yourself in viewing the relationship to others. Person-centred and experiential-oriented is ongoing related towards ‘unconditional positive regard’, ’empathy’ and ’authenticity’ with a non-violent attitude. The litmus test will be another understanding of habits and patterns in its structural and dynamical consequences of day-today situations.

Matala on Crete recollects a rebellious, creative and peace-loving movement in the sixties: ‘Today is life, tomorrow never comes‘ is still on the walls of that lovely village. We’ ll celebrate live, while staying in touch with our being right on the spot and working on ourselves. Sitting practices, movements as well as reflective individual and group sessions will complete the menu. Always and everywhere we are back to square one: ‘Who am I?’

The workshop offer opportunities to address the questions and challenges related to the second half of life in a fresh way.
