An experiential workshop facilitated by Serge Prengel with Natalia Calviño, Paula Gamble-Grant, Vera R. Fryd Lyngmo, and Florentina Sassoli
Description
Serge, Naty, Paula, Vera, and Flor are offering a space where we can deepen our understanding of how we experience spirituality, allowing for fresh meaning to emerge. All beliefs are welcome, including people who feel uncomfortable about the notion of spirituality.
The five of them come with different perspectives on spirituality. So they deeply appreciate the richness that comes from sharing and connecting from our different ways of experiencing spirituality.
What makes this work is that we create a thoughtful and mindful space in which spirituality can be explored as an experience. We can resonate with the similarities of each other’s experiences, and honor the differences between our experiences, when we see them as experiences.
No prior knowledge of Focusing is required to participate in this group.
Format
We use Zoom videoconferencing for our online classes. The session will be held in meeting format so that all participants can see the presenters and each other. You will need to have a computer/mobile device. Calling in by phone is also possible but not preferred as participation will be limited.
All registrants (whether or not you attend live) can view the recording for one month. Breakout rooms (if utilized) are not recorded.
Bios
Serge Prengel is a Focusing-oriented therapist and a co-founder of the Integrative Focusing Therapy online program. He explores creative approaches to mindfulness at ActivePause.com
Natalia Calviño is a Certifying Coordinator with TIFI, a Focusing-oriented Therapist and Yoga therapist. She has a private practice, for both individual and group therapy. She also teaches the whole Certification Program and other Courses.
“Spirituality, for me is being connected to my Higher Self, my essence, my spirit/ heart/soul… that place where I feel whole, and, at the same time, part of the whole, sensing myself, the earth, the sky, and all the beings around me, in their true light, beyond conditionings, adopted patterns and survival behaviors… In love.”
Paula Gamble-Grant has been companioning weary and disoriented, spiritually hungry souls for over 35 years. As a Focusing Oriented Spiritual Director/Supervisor and International Retreat Leader, she loves to hold sacred space for people to overhear their hearts and live into a more authentic version of their God-given self.
Gendlin puts a high value on “being human with other humans.” I am delighted to join in facilitating a communal exploration of spirituality. The more I live in a Focusing way, it is the compassionate embrace of my own and other’s humanity that seems the most spiritual and brings the most healing.
Vera R. Fryd Lyngmo is a Focusing Teacher and a University Lecturer of counselling and adult learning, with a particular interest in that which happens in the space between us as human beings with other human beings.
This offering, for me, is an open and compassionate exploration of spirituality and inter-being-ness that seems so very important to us human beings in one way or another. Maybe precisely therefore it can be both a deep source of meaning, but also possibly bring 'violence' towards ourselves and between us. Let's bring our wonderful Focusing Listening Process to this and see what comes!
Florentina Sassoli is a Counselor specializing in Personal Development. She is a Certifying Coordinator from Argentina and a Focusing Oriented Therapist. She has been teaching Focusing for over 20 years. She is President of the Asociación Civil Argentina de Focusing.
