Each life holds challenging moments.  Within each of those challenges also lies a hidden seed of resilience.  Our familiar strategies of pushing through and soldiering on often help us to get through a crisis but they can leave us with undigested experience (also known as trauma) and emotional residue in their wake.  These strategies can also deplete us when they are over used as our primary approach to difficulties over time.

Focusing, and learning to listen to the felt sense can help us to rediscover exactly what is needed to build our resilience over time.  The felt sense can serve as our inner guide so that we can develop a resilience map that is tailor made to fit us- and specifically created for each unique situation.  Not only can we discover which strategies are most useful for us, but the felt sense can assist us in knowing what is most needed in any moment to help us to recharge and heal.

In this 8 week class we will learn to listen to the felt sense in the context of our intention to discover practices that help us to cultivate resilience both in the moment and as an enduring trait.  We can also discover resilience that we already have but have overlooked or not known how to access on the spot.  Classes are experiential and conducted in a spirit of discovery, curiosity and experimentation as we learn to listen to the felt sense through a series of individual and interactive explorations. Each session will have practice with group attunement as well as individual practices and breakout sessions to more deeply explore what we are discovering in the presence of a listening companion.  No prior Focusing experience is required to get full benefit from this class.  Since the Felt Sense is always fresh and new, all levels of Focusing experience are welcome.
