Opening to the Mystery

Most of us spend our lives inside a world that seems unquestionably real - a world shaped by old hurts, the ways we adapted to them, and the model of reality we unconsciously formed as a result. Add to that the family patterns and cultural assumptions that were simply the water we swam in...

Because this is the world we have grown inside of, it can feel almost impossible to imagine that there is something more.

And yet, many of us sense that there is something more – something bigger, more alive, more luminous, than the constricted space we live inside of.

Much of what we call the spiritual journey begins here.

Focusing is deeply resonant with this sense of the MORE. The MORE isn't somewhere else or something we must attain. It is already here, already waiting for us to pause, listen, and open to it.

When, as a young woman, I became disillusioned with the spiritual path I was on, I quit the whole thing for a couple of decades. Focusing eventually became my path back to spirituality. 

In this experiential class, we'll gently settle into the Relational Field through an attunement that allows us to bring our embodied awareness into the larger field of life that is already holding us. From this place of grounded openness, we'll explore what it is like to invite something we don't yet know to emerge, as we sit together in the Mystery.

The structure will be a brief talk, a Q&A, a brief demo, partnership breakout rooms, and sharing around our experiences.

This class is a very small taste of my 9-month partnership course, Focusing for Spiritual Development, which begins in September.

FFSD explores spiritual development through the lens of Relational Wholebody Focusing, informed by other streams of Focusing and by Judith Blackstone's Realization Process (including some useful and simple spiritual anatomy). Following the experiential portion of the class, there will be time to learn more about the course and ask any questions you may have.
