Focusing-Oriented Therapist (FOT) Certification Program (2025-2027)

*********Online real-time classes + 4 days face-to-face workshops with Teacher, conducted in English. Limited to 12 participants (for maximum personal attention)*********

Training is over a two year period and will include instructional time, supervision, required reading and videos, Focusing partnerships, experiential exercises and practice sessions

Taught by Professor Akira Ikemi (conducted entirely in English).

Awarded by the Japanese Humanistic Psychology Association [Japanese Humanistic Psychology Society Award (2020)].

Training location : 40 sessions (2.5 hours each) via Zoom; 4 days In-person meetings; to meet Prof. Akira in Hong Kong on

2026 January 17th and 18th (Saturday& Sunday): Two Full-day workshops
2027 January 9th and 10th (Saturday& Sunday): Two Full-day workshops

Course schedule:

To meet Professor Akira Ikemi once a month, on the fouth Thursday (with occasional exceptions), from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (2.5 hours)

To practice with Ms. Rachel Wong & Dr. Camille Li on the following Sunday (with occasional exceptions) from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (2.5 hours)

To meet Professor Akira Ikemi In-person workshop dates: January 17th and 18th, 2026 & January 9th and 10th, 2027

Course content includes:

➢ 18 teaching sessions (2.5 hours each)
➢ 4 Group Case Supervision sessions (2.5 hours each)
➢ 4 days of in-person training

➢ 22 practice sessions (2.5 hours each)
➢ Reading and comprehension of assigned materials in English.
➢ Submission of 10 reflection papers.
