Focusing Roundtable - Bringing the Pause into Business

Registration is closed for this event
Much remains to be explored and learned about how Focusing can enhance organizational effectiveness, leadership and the employee experience. In this Roundtable we will explore what happens (or could happen) when The Pause is brought into our organizations, businesses and workplaces.

Times worldwide: convert to your time zone

Mindfulness and meditation are increasingly used as tools to beat stress, foster resiliency and promote creativity at work. However, these processes are not yet integrated into the core of organizational strategies—and Focusing is virtually unknown in the business world. Much remains to be explored and learned about how these processes can enhance organizational effectiveness, leadership and the employee experience.

In this Roundtable, we will explore what happens (or could happen) when The Pause is brought into our organizations, businesses and workplaces. Questions we might explore together include:

  • What happens when we bring our whole selves to work by including our felt knowing?
  • What changes when we incorporate deep listening in our relationships, teams, and group conversations at work?
  • How we can use Focusing and the Felt Sense to become embodied leaders?
  • How might our group Pauses create more fertile space for co-creation and emergence?

We will explore these questions using a mix of dyads, as well as large and small group discussion. We will regularly pause, to check what is wanting to emerge next from our felt sense.

Who might be particularly interested in attending this Roundtable?

Anyone curious about this topic, especially Focusers who have experience or interest in bringing Focusing and body-centered awareness into businesses and work.

CONNECTION>CONVERSATION>COMMUNITY

What to expect from Focusing Roundtables: Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation. Rather than acting as expert presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives.  All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic. To preserve the nature of informal conversation, the program will be offered live only and no recordings will be available. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first served basis. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.

The TIFI Membership Committee is pleased to offer this series of Focusing Roundtables designed especially for members of the Institute. This program will afford members a valuable opportunity to engage in casual peer-to-peer conversation with other members who share Focusing-related interests.  If you are not a member, please join at http://www.focusing.org/membership, then return to this page to register.
