Exploring "the space between"

Registration is closed for this event
This free online conversation is Part of the Focusing Roundtable series for TIFI members. Class size is limited .In this Roundtable, we will explore “the space between”. As Focusers, we know and love this space. It is the space of the pause... the space where we can sense both the relational implicit and the unfolding of our inner process... the space which allows for a transformative process to occur.

Wednesday August 28, 2019 from 12:00 to 2:00 pm EDT

The TIFI Membership Committee is pleased to offer this series of Focusing Roundtables designed especially for members of the Institute. If you are not a member, please join at https://focusing.org/page/join-or-renew, then return to this page to register. This program will afford members a valuable opportunity to engage in casual peer-to-peer conversation with other members who share Focusing-related interests.

For some of us, the exploration of “the space between” may be more focused on the relational, what happens in a dyad or in a group as we interact. For some of us, the focus may be more on our inner exploration, what happens as we are in a place of not-knowing. And, for you...?

This Roundtable will help us all dig deeper into the many dimensions of this space. In particular, we will explore what will help us bring more of it into our life and practices. We will pay special attention to:

  • What helps bring us to this space, and keeps our attention away from it.
  • How the nature of our interactions, in Focusing or otherwise, might change when we are more conscious of “the space between”.
  • How we might pace ourselves differently, in the course of our life and work, and within each task.

Other questions may emerge from our mutual exploration during the Roundtable.

Who might be particularly interested in attending this Roundtable?  All Focusers who are interested in deepening their understanding of Focusing and the dynamics of Focusing with others.

CONNECTION>CONVERSATION>COMMUNITY

What to expect from Focusing Roundtables:  Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation. Rather than acting as expert presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives.  All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic. To preserve the nature of informal conversation, the program will be offered live only and no recordings will be available. Registration is limited and on a first-come, first served basis. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.
