This workshop will not be recorded. It is an interactive workshop that will include the opportunity to practice in pairs. Registrants must attend live.

It’s wonderful to be an experienced Focuser, because the process of Focusing has become second nature for us. And, for the very same reason, it can be limiting to be an experienced Focuser: Because we take the process for granted, and we lose the freshness of what Shunryu Suzuki called “beginner’s mind“. So, in this experiential workshop, we will be paying attention to the process itself while doing the process. We will be pausing during the pause, so to speak. This will give each of us a chance to reinvent Focusing, moment by moment, in the way that it works for each of us at that moment.

After starting Focusing Conversations several years ago, Serge has come to realize that the project of sharing the many ways in which people can do Focusing is far from exhausted. It is not just that people have different theories, or different approaches to teaching, or that they put the emphasis on different place. This is an experiential and relational process.  So a lot has to do with the nature of our interaction, how we perceive it, what we pay attention to, what we respond to...

To participate in this workshop, you don’t need to know any other way of Focusing than the one(s) that you already know. Simply knowing that there are so many ways that people can do Focusing, and being in an environment where people share about their process, will give you all the encouragement you need to open up to other ways that may enrich your process.

This class is best suited for those with some experience with Focusing, though all are welcome. Because of the interactive nature of this workshop and the opportunity to practice in pairs, registrants must attend live.

The video link is an easy to use format called Zoom. You will need to have a computer/mobile device. Calling in by phone is also possible but not preferred. The class will be held in meeting format so that all participants will see the presenter and each other. (There is an option to turn off your video if you prefer and technical instructions will be given at the class start).
