Anchors and Swimmers - Communicating Across Differences

Registration is closed for this event
Anchors and swimmers is based on the premise that when people connect through their vulnerability, micro change happens. No matter how oppositional our beliefs may be, when we “go underneath” we discover our innate humanness and interconnectedness. How we hold our differences may be more important than being right if we want to build vibrant communities and create peace in our world. Anchors and Swimmers applies the Focusing attitude to create a safely anchored environment where the power and grace of receptive listening and connective reflecting deepens the conversation, shifts mindsets, offers comfort, and changes lives. Community connection heals our sense of isolation and disconnection, as well as helps heal old traumas we may carry. Some familiarity with Focusing will be helpful, though all are welcome.

Tuesday, January 16, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm New York time

Format

We use Zoom videoconferencing for our online classes. In this webinar format, you will see the presenter and host, but you will not be seen. You will be able to ask questions during the webinar by typing them. Highlights presenters may at times invite a small number of participants to unmute or join them onscreen during the webinar (optional).

You will need to have a computer/mobile device. Calling in by phone is also possible but not preferred. All registered participants will be sent a link to the video recording approximately two weeks following the class. So if you are unable to attend the live webinar, you will still be able to view it for one month.
