Mil is a mother of two children with ASD, ADHD, and speech delay challenges. She has strived her best to learn how to embrace and nurture the uniqueness of her children in the past 12 years as well as carry herself forward. As a registered social worker working with children and youth in Hong Kong since 2011, her valuable children led her to the world of play therapy and Focusing therapy as well as the community of parents of children with special needs, where she grew up as an empowered parent and capable social worker. Mil is a Psychotherapist specialized in Inner Relational Focusing and Relational Wholebody Focusing-Oriented Therapy. She works in a genuine and heartfelt-connected way with children, youth, individuals, couples, and groups to enhance the person’s grounded presence, self-awareness, and self-compassion. Mil is strong at helping people to cultivate their embodied trust and safety as well as connecting people with their inner resources and body wisdom to move forward, empowering the person to become their own “therapist”. Mil has worked with different Focusing coordinators to teach Focusing Therapy in Hong Kong and Canada, she is interested in fusing neuroscience evidence, social work, and counseling concepts to change the social stigmas and prejudices around emotions, mental health, and special needs in the Chinese community. Currently, Mil is a service coordinator of a counseling center in Vancouver Canada to provide counseling services and training to the Chinese families living in Metro Vancouver.
