I immigrated to North America from India, colonized by the British, Spanish, Dutch, Portugese and French. Besides English, I understand and speak some Hindi and Bengali.
I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Michigan. I trained in the Treatment of Trauma Level I (Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute) and Level I of The Gottman method of Couples Therapy (The Gottman Institute). I am also Certified in Indigenous Focusing Oriented Therapy for Complex Trauma (Justice Institute of British Columbia), as well as Indigenous Tools for Living with Shirley Turcotte and her team.
I work with people at the level where transformation happens, at the heart of their fear, confusion, stuck-ness, pain or reactivity. My role is to pay close attention and allow myself to be informed by people's own processes as I guide them with compassion and joy.
