We invite you to join us for an introduction to Focusing Oriented Expressive Arts (FOAT®), a Focusing approach that incorporates the expressive arts with Gendlin’s Focusing to enhance and deepen inner knowing.  In this webinar we will review the basics of Focusing and FOAT® and engage in a simple collage process to experience this powerful approach. You will be guided in a theme-directed FOAT® invitation, to delve into a part of your many-faceted self and illustrate your experience through the creation of a SoulCollage® card. The SoulCollage® process is highly conducive to awakening your intuition and empowering inner wisdom.  This webinar is hands-on, with ample time given to create your collage. No prior Focusing or arts experience is required.

This webinar is hands-on and no prior Focusing or arts experience is required. The time will be spent in some didactic learning and then you will be given ample time to create your collage. After, we will open it up for sharing and questions.

To get the most out of the experience, please have the following basic supplies ready:

  • Scissors
  • 5”x8” heavy card stock or mat board (any type of cardboard, cereal box, or moving box is fine)
  • A glue stick
  • A few magazines, old coffee table books, or anything you can gather images from
    • It can be helpful to go through your magazines in advance and roughly cut out the images that appeal to you to save time in class! To search for beautiful, free images on the internet to use for your collage, you can visit Unsplash.com and Pixabay.com
  • Optional - X-Acto knife and cutting mat

We use Zoom videoconferencing for our online classes. In this webinar format, you will see the presenter and host, but you will not be seen. You will be able to ask questions during the webinar by typing them. Highlights presenters may at times invite a small number of participants to unmute or to join them onscreen during the webinar (optional).

You will need to have a computer/mobile device. Calling in by phone is also possible but not preferred. All registered participants will be sent a link to the video recording approximately two weeks following the class. So if you are unable to attend the live webinar, you will still be able to view it for one month.
