Oceania Focusing Roundtable - Discovering the ‘Felt sense’ of YOUR ‘Wise SELF

Registration is closed for this event
Our ‘Wise SELF’ is the all-encompassing, best version of YOU and me. In Focusing, we often assume that a person's 'Wise SELF' will emerge organically (and it can). This roundtable will show participants how to unfold your Wise SELF or guide others through a ‘Wise SELF’ Focusing process.

Thursday, 11th August, 2022 - 9:00 am - 11:00 am AEDT (Sydney - Australia)

Thursday, 11th August, 2022 - 11:00 am - 1:00 pm NZDT (New Zealand)

Our ‘Wise SELF’ is the all-encompassing, best version of YOU and me. It can watch on and notice. It has a spacious awareness. It is present, wise, strong, curious and exudes deep compassion and nurture for you and others. It does not have agenda (a plan) or judgement. (Other names: 'True,' 'Authentic,’ ‘Best,’ ‘Higher,’ SELF; ‘Self in Presence,’ our ‘Essence’ or ‘Core,’ our ‘Consciousness’ or ‘Awareness’ or ‘The One who Witnesses’)

In Focusing, we often assume that a person's 'Wise SELF' will emerge organically (and it can).

This roundtable will show participants how to unfold your Wise SELF or guide others through a ‘Wise SELF’ Focusing process.

The Roundtable will give you (the participant) a process to enable you to:

  • Get to know your ‘Wise SELF’ in a mind and body way (or a left brain and right brain way) and use an anchor. This will enable you to purposely step into your 'Wise SELF' whenever you need to be beside a fragile part. In a Focusing way, you can then allow and acknowledge any part and come into kind and curious relationship with that part from a ‘Wise SELF’ position that is already there and known
  • You will also be able to guide others, to do the same.
  • There will be an opportunity to reflect and draw.
  • You will be given guiding notes on the whole process.

What to expect from Focusing Roundtables:

We warmly encourage you to register and settle down with us to join other Oceania Focusers passionate to explore topics of interest and get to know each other better. If you have an area of interest, curiosity or passion you would like to see opened up in a future Roundtable, please let us know.

Each Focusing Roundtable is designed to promote informal peer-to-peer conversation. Rather than acting as expert presenters, the Hosts will serve as conversation moderators to encourage sharing and exploration of the topics from the participants’ own perspectives.  All participants’ sharings are welcome and valuable, no matter what level of experience or knowledge you have on the topic.

To preserve the nature of informal conversation, the program will be offered live only and no recordings will be available. Participants are encouraged to create follow up opportunities for connection among themselves after the Roundtable.

The TIFI Membership Committee is pleased to offer this series of Focusing Roundtables designed especially for members of the Institute. Roundtables will afford members a valuable opportunity to engage in casual peer-to-peer conversation with other members who share Focusing-related interests.  If you are not a member, please join at http://www.focusing.org/membership, then return to this page to register.
