Find a Focusing Professional - Ian Liversuch

Biography

I am very interested in using non-cognitive methods of therapy, and am in the process of developing a program that would use nonverbal means e.g. movement, sound, dance etc, of expressing the Felt Sense. I am also interested in using Focusing as a means of deepening spiritual life through meditation, spiritual direction and the interpretation of sacred texts. Exploring the unconscious through Focusing with dreams is something that I find fascinating. It provides a new and exciting means of interpreting the complex language of our inner selves revealed in our dreamtime. Focusing has helped me befriend myself, especially those parts of myself that have, in the past, seemed too painful or even dangerous to approach. Using Focusing in my private practice, and in teaching Focusing in workshops and to individuals I hope to enable others to have this same healing encounter with themselves.
