Find a Focusing Professional - Susan Jordan

Biography

I first learnt Focusing as part of my Core Process (Buddhist-based) psychotherapy training in the early 1990s.  I was a psychotherapist and supervisor for many years, but I am now in the process of retiring. After my psychotherapy training I attended a two-weekend Focusing course and began to see how much Focusing had to offer. A couple of years later I did the full Focusing Skills course with Barbara McGavin and loved it so much that I went on to train with Barbara as a practitioner and teacher.

I've been a British Focusing Association recognised practitioner and teacher since 2003 and a TIFI Certified Focusing professional since 2004. Since my training I've Focused as regularly as I can with one or more Focusing partners, and it's a great resource in my life. I've attended Ann Weiser Cornell and Barbara McGavin's Treasure Maps and Advanced Treasure Maps courses, both UK Focusing Schools and the 2016 International Focusing Conference in Cambridge. I continue to Focus because it feels good, even when things seem dark and difficult. I love teaching Focusing and hope I'll now have more opportunities to do so.
